Health Science Internship

Course Description:  Health Science Internship is a one credit course designed for students in 12th Grade.  This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for becoming a healthcare worker or for preparing students for postsecondary healthcare education programs.  Theory and laboratory components comprise at least ten percent of the course.  Health Science Internship is designed to be completed in an extended care facility.   

Prerequisites:  Foundations of Health Science, Medical Terminology, and Therapeutic Services

CTSO:  HOSA – Future Health Professionals

Available Student Industry Credential(s):  Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

HOSA is an integral, co-curricular component of each health science education course.  This organization serves as a means to enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal and professional growth.
